1. Full-Time Positions

Our recruitment process for full-time roles varies by team but generally follows four key steps:

  • Candidates begin with an online multiple-choice test assessing general numeracy and literacy.
  • Those who pass are asked to complete a job application form and submit a CV and cover letter.
  • For research roles, applicants are also required to analyze a dataset and write a short memo to demonstrate analytical skills.
  • Successful candidates proceed to one or more interviews.

2. Field Team Recruitment

The process for hiring enumerators and moderators includes three steps:

  • We screen applications based on CVs, cover letters, and writing samples, with a focus on strong academic backgrounds (a minimum of a bachelor’s degree) and relevant field experience.
  • Shortlisted candidates complete an online logic and aptitude test, as well as a short English essay to assess language proficiency.
  • Final candidates are invited for an interview.

3. Rolling Applications

We recruit for full-time roles on a rolling basis:

  • Vacancies may be advertised multiple times while still open.
  • Applications are reviewed in the order received, and candidates are invited to assessment stages accordingly.
  • Once a successful candidate passes all stages, we close the application but continue assessing all who applied before the closing date.
  • From this pool, we select the most suitable candidate, ensuring every applicant receives fair consideration.

4. Internships

Our internship opportunities are paid and listed on our vacancies page:

  • Research and Analytics internships are ideal for candidates currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a master’s program in fields like international development, economics, statistics, or computer science, with a working knowledge of Stata.
  • Data Quality internships are best suited to recent graduates with relevant bachelor’s degrees and a keen interest in research for social impact.
  • The recruitment process mirrors that used for full-time team members.
