At IFA, we don’t just implement projects—we co-create solutions with communities, using evidence, participation, and accountability at every stage. Whether it’s building a school, improving a health center, or empowering youth through entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, we ensure that every intervention is grounded in real needs and delivers lasting impact.
-
Community-Driven Planning
We start with data, dialogue, and listening—ensuring that project design reflects what communities truly want and need, including marginalized and remote populations.
-
Evidence-Based Implementation
All our development projects are guided by baseline assessments and local data, helping partners prioritize resources, monitor progress, and track impact.
-
Local Ownership & Job Creation
We prioritize local contractors, artisans, and youth for project implementation—creating jobs, building skills, and fostering long-term community ownership.
IFA’s Development Project Services
At IFA, we work at the intersection of infrastructure, education, health, and youth development—using community data and inclusive processes to deliver impactful and sustainable development projects across Sierra Leone.
- School Construction & Rehabilitation
We construct and rehabilitate primary and secondary school buildings in underserved areas, ensuring child-friendly, gender-sensitive, and disability-accessible learning environments.
- Health Center Construction & Upgrades
IFA supports the building and improvement of community health centers, maternity wards, and outreach posts to expand access to quality healthcare. We consult local health authorities and residents to ensure services meet actual community needs.
- WaSH
We construct clean water wells and solar-powered boreholes in schools, health facilities, and communities lacking safe drinking water. All water points are tested, fenced, and designed with sustainability plans involving local water committees.
- Distribution of Learning Materials
We coordinate the distribution of learning materials such as books and school bags to vulnerable students in low-resource communities. All distributions are informed by enrollment data and equity needs to ensure transparency and impact.
- Youth Entrepreneurship & Livelihood Training
IFA provides practical entrepreneurship training and mentorship to young people, especially in rural areas, helping them gain skills in business planning, digital literacy, and market access. We also connect youth to small grants and startup support.
